I call this series "Love Among the Birds". Birds have long served as a metaphor for the human spirit or soul. The birds of paradise from the island of Papua New Guinea seemed like a good place to start. Their fantastic plumage and mating rituals are unique in the animal world and as I learned more about them I was inspired to anthropomorphize just a little.
